I want to go to the Asian Art Museum, thought Rosa. It'll be interesting to see other cultures. I'm tired of being so sheltered by my parents. They seem to think that only our culture is interesting. She sighed and looked to her doorway, where Alex was standing. "Oh, hey Alex. I didn't hear you come over here."
"I see that you were occupied with your own thoughts. You don't even notice when your brother gets home and stands in your doorway for five minutes."Alex laughed, "So what are you thinking?"
"I was just thinking about our parents." Rosa shrugged.
"What about them?"
"Well, they never really want to do anything that isn't a family tradition, you know. I want to see how other people do things. I want to travel like you do."
"You don't want to travel like me." Alex laughed and sat next to his little sister. He mussed her hair and said "You wanted to go to the Asian Art Museum, right?"
Rosa nodded.
"Well, I'll take you. Then we can get lunch or something before I have to leave again."
Rosa smiled and hugged her brother, nearly knocking him over. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
"You're welcome," Alex laughed as he got up and headed for the door. "Come on."
Rosa followed him, happier than she had been in weeks.
Alex smiled and thought I really need to take her with me on my next trip.
